For a week now I've been craving something sweet and something tangy, and I finally did something about it. since I've got the perfect cure my Lemon Torte. I learned this recipe from a class a took up with some famous celebrity chef and every centavo that I paid for that class was well worth it coz its absolutely delish!(if I do say so myself)
When my mom did her weekly trip to the supermaket I asked her to buy me fat juicy lemons! (I know I could substitute it with calamansi but heck I have no patience to juice dozens or more of calamsi) I absolutely love juicing lemons and of course I've got a new kitchen gadget my new friend, Microplane (I got it on sale! last year!). The smell of lemons permiates to the entire kitchen as I zest my lemons for the curd. I was feeling generous and my craving hits me bad so I chopped my walnuts chunky for more crunch! I folded those gently with eggwhite mixture and baked them till there golden brown...
My little brother who's usually a chocaholic didn't snub my Lemon Torte, he dug into it with great gusto! I got the the first dibs, cutting through that fluffy, sweet, creamy whipped topping wow... I could hear the crunchy walnuts cracking. oohhhh... the tangy lemon curd just hit the right spot!
I'm not surprise to say that my Lemon Torte lasted for 3 days! Well, the lemons didn't die in vain. They were greatly enjoyed and eaten with great exuberance! Till my next craving!
your creations look really pretty. if i didn't know any better, i would say a professional baker made them.

Hi, I also love Lemon Tortes. I bought one for my birthday a couple of years ago from Podium (Hobbes/Landes store). It was a bit expensive. If you don't mind sharing the recipe, I'd be happy to try making it at home. Thanks :-)Candice
